Supporting MAC Members to build strong businesses and employment futures
Our purpose
The Business Development Unit (BDU) supports MAC Members to create, grow, and strengthen their own businesses and employment pathways. We walk alongside our Members to build capacity, explore opportunities, and achieve goals — whether that means launching a new venture, upskilling, or finding and keeping meaningful work.
By connecting with industry partners, local employers, and service providers, we aim to improve the long-term economic, financial, and social wellbeing of our Members.
What we do
The BDU provides culturally grounded support across the following service areas:
- New Business Creation – From business ideas to ABNs, structures, planning and compliance
- Business Growth & Mentoring – For MAC Member Businesses ready to grow, improve, or diversify
- Employment Pathways – Support to prepare for work, connect to jobs, and stay in employment
- Skills & Training – Help finding the right course or tickets for your goals
- Youth Engagement – Inspiring young MAC Members to explore business and career possibilities
Whether you’re starting something new or building on something strong, we’re here to support you through every stage of your journey.
