Murujuga Aboriginal Corporation appoints CEO

Murujuga Aboriginal Corporation (MAC) is pleased to announce the appointment of a new Chief Executive Officer.

Kim Wood was recently appointed by the MAC Board of Directors and will commence work in October.

Mr Wood is an experienced CEO and Chair with private sector and government experience.

Most recently, Mr Wood worked at the Queensland Productivity Commission as inaugural Principal Commissioner, where he was involved in developing evidence-based advice to government on complex issues including social policy, services to remote communities and more. He has also worked in senior leadership roles for water, electricity and telecommunications corporations.

MAC Chairperson Peter Hicks said the Board of Directors had been impressed by Mr Wood’s professional background and business acumen and was confident he would deliver to MAC’s strategic priorities.

“We are thrilled with this appointment, having chosen Kim from a large field of applicants from across Australia,” Mr Hicks said.

“Kim’s experience will allow MAC to grasp the exciting opportunities in front of us, and to continue to develop an organisational culture to ensure we are an employer of choice.

“It was a pleasure to meet Kim and to show him Murujuga in the final stages of the selection process.

“We look forward to welcoming him back to Karratha when he relocates here in October with his partner and commences in the role.”
